East Asian Culture and Language Lessons

CEAS can deliver an East Asian experience to your K-12 or Community College class.

CEAS offers East Asian-related lessons with your students from kindergarten to community college. CEAS faculty and staff with University of Arizona student volunteers can visit your class and give them an authentic East Asian experience. The University of Arizona is a magnet for international students across East Asia. These students are happy to share their cultures and languages but lack the chance. CEAS also has access to domestic students in our nationally recognized East Asian Studies department keen to volunteer and share their love of East Asia. CEAS facilitates getting these students into your classrooms through a program made-to-order for your class or the entire school! Give your students an international experience while supplementing your current diversity and inclusivity curriculum.

Lessons from CEAS are perfect supplements to AAPI month, Chinese New Year, or Asian History units in your curriculum.

Case Story: AAPI Day School Visit

“Great event! The kids loved it and want you guys to come back!”

CEAS staff and student volunteers from the University of Arizona visited a K-8 school in Tucson to introduce East Asian culture to the entire student body. Three groups taught lessons in paper folding, geography, and calligraphy. Not only was this a learning experience for the K-8 students, but it was also beneficial for the university students who found the opportunity to interact with the children a treasured experience. Even more, for the international university student volunteers, it was their first time visiting a school here in the USA!
