Learning Resources for Languages, Literature, and Culture

Scholars and faculty at CEAS have been endeavoring to handpick the learning resources for the East Asian languages, literature, and culture. For language acquisition, resources such as interactive apps, language exchange platforms, and grammar guides provide essential tools for mastering vocabulary, syntax, and conversational skills. Literature enthusiasts benefit from open-access databases and digital libraries offering deep insights into classic and contemporary works. Cultural studies are enhanced through multimedia resources like documentaries, films, and ethnographic research, which provide insights into global traditions, social practices, and historical contexts. Together, these resources facilitate a holistic approach to learning, allowing individuals to engage with languages, texts, and cultural narratives in a nuanced and comprehensive manner.

Teaching the World is a collection of Title VI National Resource Centers (NRCs), which are higher education areas or international studies centers partially funded by the U.S. Department of Education. Through these grants, educational institutions across the United States can establish and run various language and area centers that provide national resources to educators and students. As a result, NRCs are mandated to provide outreach to K-14 educators and students through training and programming, which is what we aim to do.

National Resource Centers offer resources that are available locally and nationally. These include virtual classroom visits, training workshops and seminars, multimedia materials, lesson plans, and more.
