[Workshop] LGBTQ Rights and Feminist Movements in China

Residence Project: LGBTQ Rights and Feminist Movements in China

Ms. Chen Xiangqi, founder of Shanghai Nv'Ai, the only lesbian nonprofit organization in Shanghai, will host a workshop to discuss the current progress and challenges facing feminist and LGBTQIA+ movements in China. Topics will cover her work as the founder of Shanghai NvAi as well as the founder of community affinity spaces, including the Shanghai LGBT Cultural Center and Feminist Café. She will also discuss her various art projects, such as The Vagina Monologues in China and the China LGBT Oral History Project.

This event is open to the public. However, interested community members are requested to register before attending by emailing the Center for East Asian Studies (eas-center@arizona.edu). Please put "Residence Project Workshop" in the subject line.

University of Arizona and Pima Community College students and faculty are not required to register.
